About the event
In six Thursdays, we will cover Marx in his own words and why his ideas were persuasive and promoted; we will discuss Lenin and Stalin and their heinous machinery of one-party totalitarian rule. We will consider the human cost of the Ukraine famine, the Great Terror, Mao's Great Leap Forward and cultural revolution in China; we will look at the history of the worldwide communist movement and how it functions still: their front groups, propaganda methods; we will look at historical Soviet "active measures" and how these methods are applied currently by modern communist regimes. Finally, we will consider how our founders' principles provide the simple but not easy antidote against these communist regimes, including the DSA.
